Oak Hill Plantation Cemetery
Oak Hill Plantation Cemetery is located in the woods on private property north of Georgetown, near the Pearl River. The original cemetery was destroyed by loggers years ago. One of the descendants, A.T. Barron forced the logging company to clean up the cemetery area, fence it in and erect a monument with the names of the family that once lived there.
Although there are many names listed on the stone, it is believed that only three of these are actually buried there. There are surely more graves that are unmarked and are unknown. A sad story, that has unfortunately probably happened many times across our country.
The known names buried here are:
Barron
